Landscape Architecture Magazine features Future Green Studio

Future Green Studio is proud to be featured in this month's Landscape Architecture Magazine for its forward-thinking design and research around spontaneous urban plants. The article "In the Weeds" spotlights the firm’s innovative work with wild urban plants touching on numerous built and theoretical projects over the past five years. Check it out here. The article highlights a few of Future Green Studio’s design projects - Nowadays, the new outdoor beer garden hangout opened by Brooklyn DJ's Mister Sunday, Atlantic Plumbing Residences, the two new residential buildings near the rock n' roll venue, the 9:30 Club, in Washington, DC, and the impactful 345 Meatpacking, in the super stylish MePa district of NYC. The Studio has taken on an informal advocacy role in promoting the conversation around resilient urban plants, the ecological services they offer and their role in our climate-challenged future. In addition to the development of the weed-mapping website spontaneousurbanplants.org and a previous scholarly article in Urban Omnibus, Future Green Studio has also produced a book with Archer Press called Spontaneous Urban Plants: Weeds in NYC which is set to be released in March 2016 and can be pre-ordered here.
