Future Green Studio

The Loom

Brooklyn, NY

This urban courtyard was a concrete jungle before Future Green was hired to create an inviting space for residents of the mixed use commercial/residential building.

With a limited budget and salvaged materials readily available, the studio found creative solutions to green the space while preserving the industrial character of surrounding Bushwick. The courtyard design was coordinated with the rustic nature of the interior spaces which formerly housed a clothing factory.

Oversized pallet tree planters hold Amelanchier trees and drought tolerant perennials. Hanging mirrors, seeded brick pathways, and repurposed tin ceiling panels add to a sense of warmth and calm amidst the edgy environs.
