Born in the heart of the low country in Savannah, GA, Jay McBride comes from a place of both landscape significance and artistic endeavor. With sixteen years of experience in the field of landscape architecture and construction, Jay has worked in both the public and private realms’ locally, nationally and internationally.
A resident of New York for more than 13 years, Jay began his New York career as the Design and Production Manager for the Central Park Conservancy, where he worked on such varied projects as the John Lennon Memorial at Strawberry Fields, Hecksher and Ancient Playgrounds, the upland native restoration of the Lake in Central Park, and worked with Christo and Jean-Claude on their park-wide art installation “The Gates”.
Prior to joining Future Green Studio as an Associate Designer, Jay worked with Hollander Design for over 10 year on a variety of projects in Long Island, Connecticut, public park work with the John Steinbeck Waterfront Park in Sag Harbor, and international projects such as Abercrombie and Fitch’s flagship store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, France. His contribution helped the firm win numerous awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, New York Chapter American Society of Landscape Architecture awards, and the New York and Connecticut Chapters of the American Institute of Architects. Jay received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the School of Environmental Design.
