FGS and DesigNYC organize a planting day at Coffey Street
Future Green Studio partnered with DesigNYC, a group connecting “civic-minded designers” with nonprofits to complete local projects. A community-inspired and supported design was completed for a housing complex in Red Hook last summer, and is currently being installed with help from the residents and local community. On November 9th, Future Green Studio organized a volunteer planting day that brought together young families from the building, members of the Fifth Avenue Committee, FGS staff, and community volunteers. With most of the backyard planted, there will be just one more volunteer day to complete the project.
